Join Dr. Wyatt for this special conversation with Molly Stuart, a lawyer and artist who uses art in her workshops to help foster conversations about the end-of-life. We will discuss her experiences as a hospital volunteer and chaplain, as well as her program "Conversations About Death." Her presentation will focus on finding ways through art to reveal and access values about life and dying.

During this LIVE interview Molly will show slides of her workshops and samples of the artwork created by participants. You will be able to ask questions and talk with Molly if you call in during the interview.

In this interview you will learn:

  • How to engage communities, medical teams and families in conversation about the profound changes surrounding the end-of-life
  • How art can help individuals explore their own feelings about death and dying
  • Helpful resources for the dying such as music, chanting, praying, photography and massage

Molly Stuart is a lawyer by training, and an artist, who focuses her work with organizations going through significant change and individuals engaging about their end-of-life experience. She has advanced certifications in Mediation and Critical Incident Response.

Molly has served as a hospital volunteer in the Sutter Health System for over 30 years -- in the Emergency Room, as a Chaplain, and now in the Intensive Care Unit.

She leads a program called "Conversations About Death," where participants use art to gain greater access to their fears, values, and legacy in order to prepare for their end of life experience. She facilitates with private clients and families to help set advanced directives, have satisfying conversations, and create legacy materials such as memory quilts, written statements or stories and art created from family mementos.
